Kask Vertigo 2.0 Helmet Features
The Vertigo 2.0 is nearly identical to the Vertigo, save the visor attachment points on the 2.0. If you’re trying to decide between the Vertigo 2.0 and the Mojito, they are both great helmets, but just with a few differences. For one, the Vertigo 2.0 has a slightly more aero design, with 24 vents instead of the Mojito 26. This might add just that touch of extra weight, but will keep you less visible to the wind, while still allowing for a great deal of ventilation. The Vertigo 2.0’s use of the Kask up-down adjustment system guarantees that you can adjust along both the x and the y axis; not only in terms of circumference, but also whether it will grab you higher or lower on the back of your head. They have used their double pivot design so that the rear straps cradle the back of the head at whichever position is most comfortable for you. Then the easily adjustable ratchet wheel can tighten or loosen the helmet for a precise fit. You can customize from ride to ride, for instance if you want to wear a hat for one day and then go bare headed another.
To make sure that the straps won’t cause too much pressure or irritate your head, the fit system is combined with an updated breathable, non-slip inner gel liner. To ensure your comfort further, Kask has provided antibacterial and antimicrobial inner padding. It’s Coolmax, removable, and can be washed once it does start to give off the aroma of hard work. Kask includes comfort-only flourishes like an eco-leather chinstrap that adds a few grams but also prevents the smelly chaffing we all have suffered from salt-encrusted rough poly chin straps. In spite of the fact it is leather, it is a hypo-allergic and washable chinstrap that will stay supple no matter how salty your sweat.
The Vertigo 2.0 has been designed with rider safety in mind, not only the pros who will be whizzing down closed roads, but also the rest of us who will be negotiating regular motorized traffic and inattentive pedestrians. The Vertigo has a strengthening frame cutting across the frontal lobe to prevent the outer material from crumpling on impact. Additional safety measures come in the form of reflective detailing with two large reflective patches on the rear, as well as reflective elements on the chin strap. The Vertigo 2.0 has also added attachment points for a visor.
The Kask Vertigo 2.0 Helmet has passed the CPSC helmet standards for the US and weighs around 270 grams. If you do have the misfortune to crash your Kask Vertigo 2.0 within a year after purchase, Kask America will offer you a 25% discount, according to current prices, on a replacement Kask helmet. All you do is take it, along with your proof of purchase, to an authorized Kask dealer and they’ll get you set up.
Carrying the mantle of all the great helmets that have come before it, the Kask Vertigo 2.0 Helmet, with Italian design flourishes and innovative comfort and protection methods will keep you happy and safe on the roads all summer long.
One of the hardest things a company can do is improve upon product that already seems pretty amazingly perfect. But that’s exactly what Kask did with the Vertigo 2.0 Helmet. Updating a classic is never easy, but with the Vertigo 2.0, you’ll enjoy some updates and clever touches that will make it even more comfortable and protective headgear.
